DIY Easter Cactus Bunnies

Kara Whitten

Oh yes, my Easter ideas are starting to hit the blog! I have too many to share that I need to start now so that I can get them all out before Easter rolls around. These DIY Easter cactus bunnies were actually the idea of my husband. Sometimes I crowd source ideas for crafts and most of the time that “crowd” is my kids and my husband. Ha! Honestly they come up with quite a few good ideas! While I think these cactus bunnies are adorable, it also has me wondering how many things can you mash into one craft project? Here we have large wood eggs, cacti, and bunnies. But that’s not too themes rolled into one, right?

Materials to make DIY Easter Cactus Bunnies:

Begin by painting your cactus eggs with shades of green craft paint. Then let dry. Next, it’s time to add your gold cactus details. I went with dotted lines, lines with x’s, and random cactus spikes. I like that the different gold details give the cacti a little differentiation from each other.

Once you have your cacti all painted and looking cute, it is time to add the bunny details. Cut out ears and a little bunny nose from white and pink felt and hot glue them onto your cacti eggs.

Cute right? I thought about making a whole little family of cacti bunnies, but decided that just the one look best. It got kind of busy with all of them being bunnies. Now if this mash up of Easter and cacti just isn’t your thing, you can still make the cacti eggs. Because, lets be honest, they are flipping adorable in their own right. So tell me, are you team DIY Easter cactus bunnies or team just wood cacti?
