Do you have a laser cutter like a Glowforge? Or access to one? Then let me tell you what I stumbled upon the other day with making over my studio space once again. Neon acrylic can be cut to make a DIY faux neon sign!
That’s right!
A DIY faux neon sign!

It looks like the real thing! And it actually even reflects the sunlgiht to look like it is glowing in real life!

It is hard to capture in a photo, but trust me, it looks legit in person. Now, it won’t light up at night, but I think you could easily glue an LED neon strip to the letters to make it light up if you really wanted to.
Honestly at a mere fraction of the cost, I am floored at how good the faux version looks!
How to make a DIY Faux Neon Sign:
- Flourescent acrylic sheet
- Laser cutter
- Any word or cut file you want!
It really is as simple as laser cutting the acrylic into any word or font like you would for cutting vinyl on a Cricut or Silhouette.

Since I know most of you don’t have access to a laser cutter like a Glowforge, I figured I could offer to cut a sign for you. So if you ever have an idea for a custom faux neon sign, just let me know!
You can find my listing for the custom sign here in my shop.
I will get that cut and shipped to you asap so that you can enjoy the magic that is the faux neon acrylic!
