How to Make Floral Cocktail Glasses

Kara Whitten

The post, How to make floral cocktail glasses, is sponsored by JOANN. Thank you so much for supporting the brands that keep me crafting up a storm!

A few months back I got my hands on the new Cricut Wild Rose bundle available exclusively at JOANN. Not only was the pretty dark pink Cricut Explore Air 2 machine in the bundle, but it came with cutting mats, tools, and tons of vinyl! JOANN challenged me to create a few fun projects using only the vinly in the bundle, and you know I love a good challenge, so I was on board! For the first challenge, I used the permanent adhesive vinyl to decorate my craft room.

For this challenge I was to use the permanent shimmer vinyl for a project. After a bit of thinking I came up with the idea for these floral cocktail glasses inspired by the pretty icelandic poppies that I am obsessed with! I love how the shimmer vinyl takes these vinly glasses up a notch and makes them super fancy and perfect for your summer cocktail or glass of lemonade. Better yet, they are super easy to make and everything you need to make them (with the exception of the glasses) is available in the Wild Rose Bundle exclusively available at JOANN.

Begin by uploading the poppy petal and centers file into the Cricut design space, then size the petals and centers so that they will fit your glasses. Load in your cutting mat with the shimmer vinyl and set the material cut to shimmer vinyl. Cut out your petals and flower centers from the different colors of vinyl as well as gold and black for the flower centers.

Once cut, peel off the shimmer vinyl petals and layer them on the glasses to make your icelandic poppy flowers. Next peel off the flower center pieces and place them on the flowers. Repeat and make different sized flowers around the glass to create your floral pattern.
